Women's PPE- Harnesses

Women’s PPE is an increasingly important consideration across all industries as we see a growing number of women in construction, manufacturing, electrical, and other high risk positions. As a result, safety standards are changing to reflect a new level of diversity in the workforce. For both Construction [1926.95(c)(2)] and General Industry [1910.132(d)(1)(iii)] it is a requirement that all PPE properly fits each affected employee.

In recent years we have seen a growing number of options for vesting/other apparel, gloves, and even glasses for women. However, we have only recently begun seeing sufficient options for women’s harnesses in the fall protection category. In the realm of fall protection, proper fit is not only preferred, it can be life saving.
