Anti-Fog Coating

Anti-Fog Coating

Our goal when selecting PPE is to always ensure it is selected for its environment to allow for the highest rates of use. Anti-fog lenses are a great example of this kind of consideration. If the glasses are fogged up, they will be removed in no time! Even if they are off only as long as it takes to wipe the lenses clean, there is an opening for injury (as well as a large chance of scratching the lens and those glasses getting tossed). Anti-fog lenses are useful in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings, ensuring glasses stay in place and as scratch free as possible. While no anti-fog coating is foolproof, between Globus Global Safety and Pyramex, we have a few high quality and specialized anti-fog options that consistently exceed expectations.

Performance Fog Technology (Globus Global Safety)

PFT is a water washable, hydrophilic anti-fog coating cured and permanently bonded to the lens. The coating absorbs moisture and then spreads it consistently, providing clear, fog-free vision. PFT provides impact, abrasion, UV, and chemical resistance, and it is tested to EN166K, EN166N, and EN166UV standards.

H2MAX (Pyramex Safety)

H2MAX is durable enough to withstand repeated cleanings without losing adhesion and resists scratching from steel wool up to 100g of weight. It boasts clarity in the most extreme temperature/humidity conditions and is abrasion & chemical resistant. Made from non-hazardous environmental components, H2MAX passes ANSI Z871 standards for X, CE standards for N and K, and Canadian certification CAN/CSA 294.3.

H2X (Pyramex Safety)

H2X Provides anti-fog, anti-scratch, and anti-static protection. This coating continues to be effective after repeated cleanings because it is bonded to the lenses. Made from non-hazardous environmental components, H2X is waterproof with excellent scratch resistance. This coating passes ANSI Z871 standards and Canadian certification CAN/CSA Z94.3

In addition to these options, there are generalized “anti-fog” coatings which meet the needs of those settings where fogging is an issue. While they may not have specific names, any anti-fog option provides the added peace of mind that your people will be able to keep their glasses on in all hazardous situations.
